The Idaho Botanical Gardens (Old Pen Heating Plant)
Boise, Ada County
Location: 2355 N. Old Penitentiary Rd., Boise, Idaho 83712
The Botanical Garden was incorporated in 1984 and took responsibility for developing four acres of state-owned land within the Old Penitentiary Complex in Boise. The site includes the 1907 Heating Plant. The sandstone for the building was quarried from nearby Table Rock.
