It has been over a century since the first members of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints settled the town of Chesterfield in Idaho’s upper Portneuf River valley. Approximately 50 settler families worked and played among the log cabins and the tall striking orange brick structure sited on gentle rolling hills. The Chesterfield Foundation has purchased the 120-acres that encompass the town site. Hundreds of volunteers work each summer to bring life back to the once abandoned structures.
