The Methodist-Episcopal congregation built the present Museum building in 1904. The land which the building is on was donated by Peter Pence. Pence had donated the land that was previously part of his homestead. After several years in a wooden structure, the church decided to raise money to build something sturdier. The men in the congregation helped build the church, the women of the congregation held dinners, raffles and fund raised to pay off the mortgage in just two years. The outstanding feature of the structure is the beautiful original stained glass windows throughout the structure.

A new Methodist Church was built in the 1960s and the Payette County Historical Society purchased the building. Today the museum serves as a place to gather the community and to promote a sense of place and belonging.
