The McDougal General Store is one of a pair of original buildings that were moved from the Roseberry townsite to their current location in Donnelly and is part of the Valley County Museum. Built in 1905 by the local Oddfellows’ Lodge, the top floor was home to meeting rooms for members, while the lower floor contained the store which supported the overall cost of maintaining the building. Though Roseberry more or less disappeared in 1914, Mr. McDougal continued to operate the store until 1939. The building then passed to a honey packaging company, and then reverted to a general store again in the late 1960s. In 2015, the General Store was obtained by the Long Valley Historical Society. It now straddles the line between general store and living museum.
