A historic main street building in Payette, 121 N. Main was built in 1907 and housed the Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Fondly remembered by locals as Ferney’s Ice Cream in the 1950’s the Hat Café in the 1970’s. It is one of the few historic storefronts’ that has not been changed over the years. The Friends of the Portia Club plan to restore the building to be used as a business incubator for economic development of downtown Payette.
