Travel north on 93 through Carey. Just before the right bend in the highway heading north, turn left at Wood River Reservoir Road. Then, take the first right turn about a mile down.
A little angel monument guards the pioneer cemetery near Carey. Old varieties of lilacs, iris, cactus and Crown of Thorns surround the many unmarked graves. Volunteers work to repair the remaining headstones. The headstones date from 1889-1916. After that time the cemetery was abandoned and a new site was selected on a hill north of Carey.
