Butte County Grandstands

Butte County Grandstands
Arco, Butte County

  • Grants: 2021 (shoring up loose steps and structure), 2022 (roof replacement)

Location: Park Road Arco Idaho

The Butte County Grandstands were built in 1938 with a grant from the Work Progress Administration (WPA). The WPA was one of the relief programs created by President Roosevelt during the Depression. Arco was granted money for their recreation building, the grandstands, and a few other local projects. The grandstands have stood the test of time as well as the 6.9 earthquake of 1983. The high school rodeo, the Atomic Days rodeo, the local county fair, and most recently the ATV races are all held here. The grandstands also attract visitors who are stopping by Craters of the Moon.
