The building that currently serves as the Blaine County Museum was originally built in the mid-1880s and was used as an armory during the Spanish American War. Over the next seven decades, the building was a labor temple, dance hall, liquor store, mercantile, and the site of the first moving picture theater in Hailey. In 1962, the building was deeded to the County for use as a museum. The building houses a number of artifacts pertaining to early pioneer and settler life, mining, cattle, and agriculture industries, and other pieces pertaining to daily life. There is a replica general store, a collection of period tools, and the first switchboard in the State of Idaho.
