The Stricker Store and the Stricker home are all that remain of a place called Rock Creek or Stricker. The Rock Creek State Station begins its history when Ben Holladay was awarded the mail contract between Salt lake and Wall Walla, Washington Territory. James Bascom built the stage station in 1865. In the fall of 1876 Herman Stricker and his partner John Botzet purchased the store and house. The Stricker home was built in 1901. Located on the stage route, the Boise Kelton Freight Road and the Oregon Trail, this stop was an important landmark and source of supplies for travelers. The Trust has provided grants for both the store and the house. The Idaho State Historical Society owns the site.
